Teorical background

The suspense
The suspense is  a resource used in narrative works of different media that is principally devoted to keep the reader the expectation ,usually in a state of tension , of what might happen to the characters,and therefore , attentive to the devolopment of the conflict or knot of the story.
The suspense is without doubt one of the rhetorical strategies  most persistent in the historia of narrative.
These notes asume that today the most powerful narrative of seduction cinema.

The story to film :form and structure
When you start these notes with these satatements take as a eçstarting point called a narrative intrigue of predestination.
But the most important similitary betwen the short story and the clasic movie is structural,and involves the use of the satrategies of narrative suspense.

The suspense  narrative
Basically,  it 's an effect of meaning produced in the reader or viewer of cinema , which is "a state  of uncertainty, anticipation and curiosity  regarding the outcome of de narrative of  the narrative".

Summary

The sixth sense
The sixth sense is an American film of the 1999 thriller genre directed by Indian filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, on an original script and owns experience tells a psychologist trying to figure out when trying to help a child about the terrible truth of the supernatural powers that he possesses. Its release caused a phenomenon of public and critics alike, something rarely seen at that time with respect to the films of its genre, mixing drama with suspense and fright.

Child psychologist Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) lives with the horrible memory of a patient who mistakenly tried to whom misfortune has led to trying to help. In his search for redemption is set to Cole (Haley Joel Osment), a 9 year old boy strange and introverted that needs immediate treatment.
Determined to make his past mistake, Malcolm will try to approach him and help him, and slowly earning their trust will.
That's when the little express Cole for the first times the terrifying secret that torments him: he has a gift that lets you see and hear the tormented spirits that roam the world, invisible and intangible.

The outcome of the film has two achievements of both characters. Cole, meanwhile, ends steeling himself and accepting his gift, and discovers with surprise that the spirits that accompany it can not leave the world of the living just because their lives or their actions have been completed, have a loose or need a fix that only a living person can make.
Malcolm, meanwhile, made
​​the surprising discovery of the film on the outcome of this: he is dead, unknowingly, being one of the many spirits which Cole sees and hears. He was killed by his own "patient failed" before he committed suicide, and so, except Cole, all the other characters have inexplicably ignored.
